Our Instructors
Both Pete Roberts and Rick Webber have had an impact on tens of thousands of bjj enthusiasts world-wide through bjjweekly.com, the web's highly popular hub for Brazilian jiu-jitsu The level of instruction our teachers provide, experience and depth of knowledge are bar none in Western Maine.
Both Pete and Tony are two of the top competitors in New England. Pete is known for his technical prowess and thought by many, the top big man in the state and one of the top in North America. Pete recently took Gold at the Abu Dhabi Pro Trialsin 2011. In 2008, Pete placed 5th in the world championships out of over 30 competitors from all over the world. Tony is a seasoned competitor and has only lost one fight in the last 3 years. In his weight class, Tony is the most feared in Maine. Recently, Tony won the Ohio Open, securing victories over some of the nation's best players. Watching Tony is always educational and exciting as he picks apart the flaws of his opponents forcing them to make mistakes and then capitalizing.
Facilities
Ethos' facilities are the most advanced in Western Maine. Our Swain, high density tatami mats are the same ones used in olympic judo competitions and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitions worldwide. Our mat space alone is just under 1,000 sq ft. and allows for roomy rolling and sparring. Located in a 30,000 sq. ft. facility, we provide both conditioning, jiu jitsu and mma training to all levels and ages.
